Breakfast/Snack Ideas 04: Berry-good Smoothie


If you're on the run for breakfast, or need a mid-day pick me up... this nutritious smoothie is something to try. 

In addition to the goodness of yogurt and berries, this smoothie has ground cinnamon,  ground turmeric, and chia seeds. You  will notice me using turmeric in a few other recipes too. I don't just use it for cooking, I add it to some drinks too e.g. this recipe. Turmeric has natural anti-inflammatory and other medicinal properties. 

Everything goes into a blender, hit the button, and you're done. This recipe serves 2 tall glasses of Berry-good Smoothie.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of whole milk
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of Greek yogurt
  • 2/3 cups of mixed berries
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of chia seeds 
  • 1 and 1/2 cups of ice cubes
  • Honey (to taste)
