Asian Fusion: Sweet and Spicy Sesame Chicken


You can get this dish done even if you're a busy person who works or studies full time. It's really simple and fast. The prep, entire cooking time, and kitchen clean up can be done within 40 minutes. You'll get to enjoy tasty home cooked meal at a fraction of the cost of eating out.

To prepare your Sweet and Spicy Sesame Chicken, line a 9" x 9" pan with foil and drizzle with a tablespoon of olive oil. Place chicken pieces in the pan and drizzle a tablespoon of olive oil on them. 

In a bowl, mix together hoisin sauce, orange sauce, ground Chinese five spice, ground ginger, crushed red pepper, and sea salt. Brush the mixture over the chicken pieces. Lastly, sprinkle sesame seed and bake uncovered for 25 minutes in a pre-heated oven at 450°F.

Your Sweet and Spicy Sesame Chicken is now ready! You can serve it over quinoa and brown rice or any grain / carbohydrates of your choice... or just have it on its own.

Ingredients:

  • 5 pieces of chicken thigh
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons of orange sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground Chinese five spice mix
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon of crushed red pepper (add or reduce according to your heat tolerance)
  • 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon of sesame seed
